Oh man… of course the week I decide to kick off my clean eating meal plan my kiddo gets a cold and then I get a cold and now I feel like dog doo. It seems like I’ve had a cold for the past 3 months straight, ugh.  I suckered my Sister-n-law, Nikki, into starting this journey with me.  I’m so excited to have someone else to commiserate with.  Here is our plan.  We are going to workout together Friday, Saturday and Sunday and then work out on our own two other days during the week, our goal is 5 workouts each.  I’m going to go grocery shopping on Saturdays and then she is going to help me food prep on Sundays after we finish our workout.

Weekly Meal Plans

*Note: My grocery list is shopping for 3 adults and 1 toddler… so quantities may vary.  I’m trying to figure out an easy way to enter the number of people you are cooking for and it’ll automatically update the quantities for every recipe, but that will take some more time:(

There is some strategy applied to the menu above: 

  1. I don’t like eating anything in the fridge that is older than three days.  Since we are prepping on Sunday, I’m making the meals for Thursday-Sunday freezable.
  2. I don’t want to cook a separate meal for my son.  It defeats the purpose of prepping ahead of time!  So I picked meals that I know my son will eat.  That boy loves meatballs!
  3. Since I’m grocery shopping on Saturday for our Week 2 prep, I’ll pick up fresh salad greens for our weekend meals. 



I ordered a bunch of meal prep containers, like these:

I’m also using this awesome online tool called Plan To Eat (click on the link below to see for yourself how awesome it is!):

It allows me to upload recipes from the internet or manually add them myself.  I can then plan out my menu for the next week (or as far out as you want to go) by dragging a recipe into the planner.  This will generate a grocery list that I can sort by grocery store and check off items I already have.  I absolutely love it.  They also have the best customer service and will never auto-renew your subscription.  You will have to renew it yourself which I love.
